This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our encrypted note-sharing service. By using Inkrypt, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Inkrypt is designed with privacy at its core. Here's what we do and don't collect:

✓ What We DON'T Collect

  • Passwords: We never store or have access to your note passwords
  • Note Content: All notes are encrypted in your browser before transmission
  • Personal Accounts: No registration, login, or user accounts required
  • Our Own Tracking: We operate no tracking pixels, remarketing tags or cross-site profiling of our own. Where we implement third-party advertising, those vendors may use their own cookies to serve ads (see Third-Party Services below).

○ Analytics & Technical Data

  • Analytics: Aggregate usage measurement through Google Analytics — page views, browser and device type, and approximate region. Page addresses are reduced before they are sent, so note names and share links are not included.
  • Network Data: Inkrypt's own application code does not read, log or store IP addresses. Your IP address is still necessarily visible to our hosting provider, and to third-party services your browser contacts — including Google, for analytics — because a request cannot be answered without it.
  • Encrypted Notes: We store encrypted note data, but we cannot read it

Cookies and Tracking

We use a single first-party cookie, and only for functionality. Other preferences — such as your light or dark display choice — are kept in your browser's own storage rather than in a cookie. Our cookie policy lists every cookie and storage entry individually.

Essential Cookies

Necessary for the site to function, and not something we can switch off. There is exactly one: viewed_note_<token>, set when you open a shared note so that reopening the same link does not consume an extra view against its view limit. It holds no information about you and nothing about the note's contents. There are no accounts and no user sessions, so there is no session cookie.

Third-Party Services

To provide and improve our service, we may use the following third-party services:

    Advertising (Google AdSense): We may use Google AdSense and other third-party vendors to serve advertisements. When implemented, these vendors use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

    Google Analytics: Aggregate usage measurement. Page addresses are reduced before they are sent, so note names and share links are not included.

    Cloud Hosting And Database: Encrypted notes are stored on third-party cloud infrastructure, which cannot decrypt them. As with any host, these providers process connection metadata such as IP addresses in their own server logs in order to serve requests. That is separate from, and additional to, anything Inkrypt's application code collects.

Data Security

Your security is our top priority. Here's how we protect your data:

Zero-Knowledge Encryption

All notes are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM encryption before being sent to our servers.

No Access to Content

We cannot decrypt, read, or access your notes. Only you and those with the password can view the content.

Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

    Full Ownership: You own all content you create. We never claim rights to your notes.

    Delete Anytime: You can delete your notes at any time, and they will be permanently removed.

    No Account Lock-In: Since we don't require accounts, you're never locked into our platform.
